Chapter 2 Notes

Emphasis: This picture is pretty simple. it shows the main idea immediately, which is my uncle's house in Tennessee.

Lines: the allignment of all the parallel lines make up the city buildings. Taken in San Francisco

Value: the shadows of the leaves show the quality of light and dark in the photograph.

Color: the deep red is the color that is emphasized in this photo.

Radial balance: the spider web's circular style of composition depicts radial balance.
Unity: all the colors of the flowers and plants in the rose garden work together to make the colorful and variety-filled collection of plants.

Space: a picture I took from an airplane, it shows depth and you can see the shadow of the airplane so you can see that it is far.
Asymmetrical Balance: the sun is coming from one side of the picture and it is not symmetrical, kind of like the rule of thirds. Taken by the tennis courts at Mercy.

Movement/ Rhythm: This picture shows movement because the jetski is in motion but still clear so the moment is captured.
Proportions: The artist is not too big in this picture but the whole HP PAvillion has his attention.

Variety: the puppy looks big in the picture and so does the grass, but they are both very tiny
Variety: This picture, taken in Paris, makes the eiffel tower look very small, but it is very tall in real life.
